Du coup, nous avons pris la direction du Cambodge mais pour sortir un peu des sentiers battus, nous avons souhaité passer par un poste frontière peu fréquenté par les touristes... Tout allait très bien du côté thai mais une fois la frontière passée, nous avons vite compris pourquoi personne ne passait par ici: nous nous sommes retrouvées dans la jungle, au milieu de nulle part! Un seul bus dessert le village dans lequel nous avons atteri : il passe tôt le matin. Dommage pour nous, il est 13h! Du coup, nous avons du négocier un taxi comme des acharnées pour pouvoir rejoindre Siem Reap. Moyennant 22 € et en acceptant la compagnie de 4 personnes supplémentaires à bord de notre petite Toyota, nous sommes finalement arrivées à destination!
From failures to failures
We wanted to stop at the national park of Khao Yai (one of the biggest and most preserved park of Thailand), for a few days, in fact to do some trekking and swimming into the waterfalls. But unfortunately, once we got there, we realised that it was way above what we could afford, so expensive!! Whatever, maybe we'll go back once we'll marry a rich and old man :-)
So we went to Cambodia, but to get away from the tourist trails we decided to cross the border at an unusual border crossing. Everything was fine on the Thai side but once in Cambodia we knew why no one would come over here: we were in the middle of nowhere and only one bus goes to the closest city but only at 6am and it was 1pm..... too bad!
So we had to negotiate very hard a taxi that took us for 22€ and we had to share it (but not the price) with 4 other persons.... That was pretty tight! 4 in the front and 4 in the back.... plus the luggages!
